Computer-Based Training
Repcon began computer-based
training (CBT), during the month
of April 2003. We have a
computer based training labs
setup in our offices in Corpus
Christi, Houston, Beaumont and
Baton Rouge. Thirty-five
percent of training will be
computer-based training (CBT).
CBT will be conducted in-house,
off-site and on a web-base. This
training will be for all full
time and part time employees as
follows:
-
All full time employees will
be required to successfully
complete their required CBT
programs that includes;
Safety and health, craft
testing, interpersonal
skills and applicable
company’s policies and
procedures based from the
employee’s classification.
-
All part time employees will
be required to successfully
complete craft testing and
applicable CBT craft
training as per their
classification and job
assignments. Part time
employees, on an annual
average, must successfully
complete over 100 hours of
job related safety training.
Home Study
Part of Repcon’s training
process offers our employees the
opportunity to complete their
required craft training modules
at home and at their own pace.
Repcon provides individual craft
training models to their
employees. The employees are
required to successfully
complete the training modules
practice test. The employees are
then offered the module test by
computer or hard copy. Hard copy
test are generated at the time
the test is needed and all test
are different. As employees
successfully complete their
required craft modules they
receive module certificates and
continue through our craft
mentoring process through
completion of their craft
certification.
Field Verification
Fifteen percent will be a field
verification program conducted
mostly offsite. All part-time
employees will complete a 4 hour
field application and practical
exercise. This skills
demonstration is the second part
of the Summer Training Program
to be conducted weekly over a
three month period.
All craft modules required field
verification. As employees
successfully complete the
written portion of their
required modules they are
scheduled to perform specific
documented tasks, specifically
designed to mirror their craft
modules. Repcon has NCCER field
verification instructors that
monitor the field verification
test. Once the employee has
successfully completed their
required practical test, the
results are forwarded to
corporate and the employee
receives recognition for
completing the module field
verification test.
